George Walpole
The Right Reverend George Henry Somerset Walpole, DD, MA was an eminent Anglican priest and author.[1] Walpole was born in 1854 [2] and educated at Trinity College, Cambridge. He began his career as curate at St Mary’s Truro.[3] He was the incumbent of St. Mary’s Pro-Cathedral, Auckland, NZ;[4] then Professor of Dogmatic Theology in the General Theological Seminary, New York; Principal of Bede College, Durham;[5] Rector of Lambeth and then Bishop of Edinburgh.[6] He died on 4 March 1929
